What we offer
Architecture Design
An architect’s privilege includes creative, technical, and managerial responsibilities. To see a project through completion, a client has many decisions to make with variable outcomes. Our team strives to make the process simple by working to understand your priorities, maintaining transparent communication with all stakeholders, and presenting design solutions that are an undeniable win.
-
We start by understanding our clients' needs and vision for a project. We create goals for the project that are trackable and specific. Our team creates conceptual designs and sketches that incorporate aesthetic, functional, and environmental considerations. This phase involves brainstorming, iteration, and strategizing around goals.
-
We conduct thorough research on building codes, regulations, zoning laws, and environmental factors that may impact the project. We also consider the site's topography, ecology, and geology to inform the design.
-
We refine and develop the initial concepts into detailed plans. This process involves careful coordination with clients and consultants to create a set of drawings that meet the initial vision for the project.
Mechanical and Plumbing Engineering
Right from the start, our experts will provide insight on energy usage, daylighting and engineering systems strategy to help the design teams make the right decisions for your project. The team possesses over 60 years of combined mechanical and plumbing engineering experience working on some of the most complex buildings in the world. The firm’s experience spans design and construction of all types of commercial and residential projects, including net zero energy performance and carbon neutral designs.
-
The best heating and cooling systems have the building naturally heat and cool itself. The first step in creating such a system is to give good consideration to the building's envelope, and our team knows exactly what that takes. Our designs for low energy systems are successfully keeping people happy (read: not too hot and not too cold) in net zero energy and carbon neutral campuses today!
High Performance Building Analysis
Every building is unique, and each design process is laden with opportunity to positively impact its occupants and its surroundings. We want design teams to have the numbers at their fingertips so they can understand how to influence a building’s performance. Nothing makes us more proud than creating high performance, low energy consuming buildings in which people can relax comfortably and confidently.
-
We listen to your goals and arm design teams with real-time information to help inform decisions throughout the entire design process. We help you understand the impact that factors such as insulation values, massing, orientation, mechanical systems, photovoltaics, controls strategies, and even occupant behavior can have on energy usage.

Net zero energy performance, often referred to as "net zero energy", is a design approach aimed at achieving a balance between the amount of energy the system consumes and the amount of energy it produces. In a net zero energy building, the goal is to minimize energy consumption through energy-efficient design and technologies while simultaneously generating renewable energy on-site or through other means. We have significant experience in creating net zero outcomes for projects all across the world. Each building and site is different and takes careful planning and analysis to accomplish this goal.

Water Management
Water is a precious resource, one that we believe can be better managed with thoughtful design. Dake Collaborative can help you reduce your potable water usage. We can also help you capture, treat and reuse rainwater, graywater and blackwater. Cost over time models will help create a full picture so you can make meaningful selections during the process.
-
Daylight modeling directly impacts both occupant satisfaction and energy efficiency. We use computer simulations and measurements to ensure adequate daylight for occupant well-being, reduce energy consumption, and create comfortable and visually appealing environments. We provide this analysis in conjunction with thermal and lighting design to provide a holistic picture for decision-makers.
