Who We Are

Dake Collaborative was formed with a goal of creating exceptional experience for occupants and owners while achieving high levels of sustainability. In order to meet these goals our approach starts with collaboration and integration of expertise.

Established in 2021, Dake Collaborative brings 15 years of successfully facilitating and engaging multi-disciplinary stakeholder groups resulting in high performance buildings including five net zero energy buildings, the First Living Building Challenge project to pursue full petal certification in Colorado (after construction completion), four completely off grid projects, and thousands of square feet of healthy indoor environments.

The firm’s approach is aimed at identifying and defining high performance goals with the team and providing timely feedback and analysis to ensure the project is on a trajectory to meet those goals. Dake Collaborative consists of integrated design experts including architects, engineers, building scientists, and data analysts that are dedicated to helping the stakeholders obtain comprehensive information in order to make the best decision. The results are exceptional environments.

Miles Dake

Licensed Architect, Licensed Professional Engineer

Throughout his experience in engineering and architecture design firms, Miles, found that architects and engineers often times have a difficult time working together. At its worst, the result is a disconnect between the architectural systems and the building systems which creates excess energy usage, poor user experience, and unnecessary construction changes due to poor coordination. Miles wanted to provide his clients with a better experience.

The overall vision of Dake Collaborative is to provide exceptional architecture and engineering solutions that consider both the architecture and building systems from the beginning. As a result, these buildings are highly sustainable, well coordinated, and are wonderful spaces to inhabit.
